Artist's Description

If you are familiar with my art, you’ll notice I tend to paint farm animals and crows. Many people can understand the farm animals as subjects, but they often wonder “What’s up with the crows?” When it comes to crows, it’s been my experience that folks fall into one of two camps. They either love them or they can’t stand them. I’m in the first camp. And it’s a good thing because they pretty much own our property. We may have the deed but they are the true owners and they just tolerate us. Their raucous cries fill the air as they fly about arguing over the scraps of bread our neighbor puts out. They are quite intelligent and very sociable. I love the way they sit together and converse. In addition to their beautiful blue-black color, it is these qualities that I find so appealing. It’s also why they will continue to find a spot in my art.

About Stacey Neumiller

Stacey Neumiller

I delight in rural farm life. To me it’s the best possible way to live. But not everyone can or wants to live on a farm or in the country. That’s where my art comes in. I paint my vision of what rural farm life embodies: animals, birds, crops, fresh air, fragrant grass and of course, red barns. All of these things ground me and make me whole. With my art, it’s my goal to share my connection to this pure, simple lifestyle so you can enjoy it in your own home.
