Artist's Description
Every animal in our family gets its portrait painted at one time or another. This was my son's cat Tiger. I painted it not long after we had moved to Coupeville on Whidbey Island located in the Washington state's Puget Sound.Whidbey Island is long and skinny and its northern end is shaped like the head of a moose. Once on the island you can see water from almost every vantage point. At one point, my folks had a summer home here and my dad had a yellow sailboat. I added it to the painting as a nod to Dad.
About Stacey Neumiller
I delight in rural farm life. To me it’s the best possible way to live. But not everyone can or wants to live on a farm or in the country. That’s where my art comes in. I paint my vision of what rural farm life embodies: animals, birds, crops, fresh air, fragrant grass and of course, red barns. All of these things ground me and make me whole. With my art, it’s my goal to share my connection to this pure, simple lifestyle so you can enjoy it in your own home. Oh, I certainly agree with Carol. Love your style- so clear and well-stated, with such charm. I also like your description, especially the part about the yellow sailboat "as a nod to Dad".
